Celebrating a Blended Family
Modern families come in all shapes and sizes, and blended families are a modern way many parents and children live these days. So when two people join to create one new family, a naming ceremony is the perfect celebration to bring two familes into one.
It’s a celebration of their new family unit, a new surname, a new lifestyle, and new relationship. A naming ceremony is a great opportunity to celebrate the joys and happiness of coming together to create a new family. This can be done at your home, at a venue, or an outdoor setting.. wherever and however you wish.
As your celebrant I will write a joyful ceremony script for all family and friends to enjoy, either a traditional blessing, with readings, or a more informal modern style of celebration where the children can get involved with poems, songs, music, dancing, or it could be a bit of both, whatever you wish.
Celebrating an Adoption
A Naming Ceremony or an Adoption Ceremony, or a Welcoming Ceremony – however you wish to call it, is an opportunity to celebrate the joining of a child or children into a family unit. Deciding to adopt is not an easy journey, so when it finally happens, holding a ceremony to recognise the start of a new family union and a new beginning for your child or children, may be something that feels just right, important and worthwhile.
An adoption ceremony can be an opportunity to appoint other significant adults in the child or childen’s lives – guide parents, mentors, fairy god parents – people who will also be part of your wider team in supporting your new family unit.
We will work together to create something that works for you and the children involved – it will be poignant, moving and lots of fun and laugher, and I will make your ceremony just what you all want… a celebration!
